Paul lived the last 5 years of his life at University Living nursing home in Ann Arbor.  He did quite well there.  He had a really nice apartment, and always went to the dining room for his meals.  He attended exercise class three times a week, and some activities.  And of course, he played chess almost every day in the library.  He played with volunteers, employees, a one other resident, resident family members and his grandchildren.  He recently started playing himself a lot.  He really enjoyed this, he found it much more interesting to him than the assisted living activities.  He did it the majority of the day, especially his last year of life.
